Wow sounds cold! With all due respect, why do you kitesurfers insist on the boardshorts even when it's so freakin cold?? LOL
Adrian,
I think this link will answer the age old conundrum of why kitersurfers wear boardies over their wetsuits ;-)

Tilman,
Out of interest how deep (and cold!!!) is the water you are kiting in?
mmhh ...
... sounds like a misunderstanding.
Liquid ice has nothing to do with temperature (2 degrees in the video) but with water depth.
Depth in the video is between 5 cm = liquid ice (my poetic term for extremely flat water) and 20 cm = chop.

There are 2 different ways of getting flat water:
1.) Sailing close to the shore
2.) Sailing close to the ground (waves cannot build up in shallow water)

The extremely small waves of liquid ice hitting the bottom of the board generate  that extraordinary sound you can hear in the video:
DRRRRRRRRRRRRRRRRRRRRRRRRRR !

From now on there are 2 ways of getting this fantastic sound-experience:
1.) Buy a kite !
Or
2.) Buy a decent loudspeaker with a good bass and put the volume to max !

Tilmann congratulations on your video. I saw it and I also saw Mystique Ride. I liked them both and I have to admit there is a very artistic side on them, especially coming from the sound editing and the excellent choice of music. I even followed the relative link of Daisy Chapman's video "Our Mutual Friend" witch I did n't know before and I enjoyed a lot. Wonderfull melody
Brian thanks. Re boardshorts all is explained by the professionals. $0$0 $0 $0Tilmann. Loved the video. You callin' 2 degrees not cold? Crikey! Having sailed at Sandy Point I think I know what you're talking about. The chop there can be a small as a few centimeters even when it's 40knots.$0
